What Derbies will be Covered?

We will initially cover the Derbies of the Triple Crown:

• The Kentucky Derby (May 6): The first jewel in the Triple Crown is the Kentucky Derby. This race has earned the reputation of “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports”. This year will mark the 149th running of the 1 1/4-mile (2,000 m) Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville.

• The Preakness Stakes (May 20): Thoroughbred racing comes to Maryland on the third Saturday in May each year for the second and shortest leg in The triple Crown. This year marks the 148th Preakness, a 1 3/16-mile race (1,900 m).

• The Belmont Stakes (June 11): The Belmont Stakes is the oldest and longest of the Triple Crown races. Only 11 times has a horse been able to wrap it all up in New York.  It is run over 1.5 miles (2,400 m).

How to Play, Ticket Price & Prizes

Ticket: FREE to Enter for Holders of the Derby NFT Collection (no betting, just Fantasy Play)

How to Play? (Kentucky Derby):

• Points: Play is based on fantasy points, FREE to play.

• Snapshot: 1h prior to race start on 5/6/23

• How many horses: You can play up to 3 horses/NFTs, just hold them in your STX wallet.

• No repeat: Can’t repeat horse number, only one play per horse. Of course, if you have them, it means no one else can use those points… but you might want to trade/sell that NFT too! (Many options).

• Winners: Whomever accumulates more points after the race is over will win. We will distribute 1,2 & 3rd place. If tied, we will raffle.

• How points are accumulated:

  • Win (1st place): 100% points on the reported final odds. Example: if a horse had 5/1 odds, it wins and you hold it in your wallet, you will get 5 points (5×100%= 5 points).

  • Place (2nd place): 50% points on the reported final odds. Example: if a horse had 30/1 odds, and comes in 2nd, and you hold it in your wallet, you will get 10 points (30×50% = 15 points).

  • Place (3rd place): 25% points on the reported final odds. Example: if a horse had 40/1 odds, and comes in 3rd, and you hold it in your wallet, you will get 8 points. (40×25% = 10 points).

  • Hold all 3 horses that got in 1st, 2nd, 3rd place then add up those points, taking the example that would be 5+15+10 points or 30 points.

How to Play The Preakness Stakes & Belmont Stakes: Prior to the race start we will update our fantasy play model.

With this collection we want to showcase BTCS main artist “Nez” pixel design capabilities as we want to bring others soon. Nez grew up using and playing with Pixel art. We are planning other pixel art collection and the holders of this one will have a ticket to the front seat when we issue new ones.

Will BTCS Derby Collection Generate Loyalty Tokens

Yes, as with our other Collections, the BTCS Derby Collection will generate BTCS Loyalty Tokens, we have estimated that they will generate a rate ranging from 150-300% of the daily base rate depending on traits.

BTCS Off-Chain Loyalty Token

We are currently developing an off-chain loyalty utility token that will serve as center for our gaming services, focusing on a fantasy sport model allowing our users to play their favourite sport leagues & tournaments on daily/weekly basis for a chance to win exciting prizes. BTCS Loyalty Token will enhance user experience and drive engagement within our sports platform. Initially BTCS Tokens will be earned exclusively by our NFT collections & Discord participants.
