BTC Sports Tennis Collection - Wimbledon 2023

Wimbledon 2023

Wimbledon, the oldest tennis tournament in the world, is widely recognized as the most prestigious on the sport. This year marks the 136 of Wimbledon, which is held at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The tournament features a 128-player singles draw, and 64-team doubles draw.

The Championships are played on outdoor grass using the Slazenger Wimbledon ball. There will be electronic line calling on all courts. All matches will be played in a best-of-three set format. A 10-point final set tiebreak will be used at six games all. The singles final will be played on Saturday, July 15 at 2 p.m. local time.

How does Tennis Scoring work?

Tennis matches work in three phases: A game, a set, and a match.

  • GAME is played until a player scores four points, of which a player can earn in several different ways. When in a tie, players must continue the game until one overcomes the other by 2-points.

  • SET is collection of games, played until a player wins six games by a spread of 2 games. If players are tied after 5 games, set must be played until one win 7 sets.

  • A Wimbledon MATCH is played to a best-of-five sets for Gentlemen & best-of-three for Ladies.

BTC Sports Tennis Scoring System

BTC Sports Tennis Scoring System is specifically designed to recognize & reward players who demonstrate exceptional skills on the court, particularly in terms of how they outperform their opponents in individual games and sets. Points are accumulated by players throughout the entire tournament, ensuring that those who display superior skills will rise to the top of the rankings. Additionally, winning players have the opportunity to continue competing, providing them with more chances to accumulate additional points. This scoring system emphasizes both skill and consistency, ultimately determining the most accomplished players in the tournament.

  • Winner of Game:             1 point Gents / 2 points Ladies

  • Game Spread:                  3 points / 5 points Ladies

  • Winner of a Set:               5 points / 8 points Ladies

  • Set Spread:                   10 points / 17 points Ladies

Why Distribute ALL Funds Minted on Prizes?

About our business model

We want to reward our loyal user base for believing in us. We minted 200 NFTs which included ~40 flag/coin claims + airdrops to the Team Wallet; we raised about 3,000 $STX which we intend to return to the Community in form of prizes. In fact, we have returned almost all funds minted from VIPs, OG Soccer, Derby & Tennis to our Community (we will post more details on our anniversary article), plus invested in software, design, team building, promotions & other. We believe mints won’t make us profitable, but they have helped us on building a GREAT Community! What will make us profitable will be our Fantasy Gaming Platform where we will be able to sell daily/weekly/season tickets to users that want to play with Crypto and don’t want to Dox. Having and on-chain Fantasy Game Platform is our goal. Once our Fantasy Platform is ready, we need volume, so we intend to push a very strong cross-chain launch. STX VIPs will always be our center, you are in for a wonderful ride!

Women Participation in a Male Dominated Space

In a predominantly male-dominated NFT space, the lack of female representation is undeniable. However, our Tennis Collection aims to change that narrative by celebrating women magnificently. Through our NFTs, we honor the remarkable achievements and contributions of female athletes, highlighting their strength, talent, and grace. Join us in championing gender diversity and empowering women in the world of NFTs!

From our Five 1/1’s we had to include a “to the moon” or space theme (please NFT below). The traditional thought would have been that the person under the suit would be a guy. But no! We made it a woman & made that NFT represent Aryna Sabalenka an incredible IRL Tennis Player! On a similar note, our Daenerys NFT (powerful tennis dragon queen) represents Iga Swiatek the #1 ranked female tennis player in the world now.
