As you can imagine, we are not even getting our feet wet with an attempt to participate in the Global Ticketing Market, but we need to start somewhere! We have decided that the the Triple Crown is the perfect event for it. The Kentucky Derby (05/06/23) had a maximum of 20 possible horses, the Preakness Stakes to be held tomorrow (05/20/23) a max of 14 horses (actually only 8 will run) and the Belmont Stakes a max of 12.

Our OG Derby Collection was issued with horses #1-20 which would have eliminated many horses on The Preakness (12 on this race) & the Belmont Stakes. We believe that everyone who minted should have a FREE chance at the prize pot, so the Ticket Collection was a perfect solution!

FREE Derby Ordinals!

Many of you have asked us about Derby Ordinals, so we have decided to to award the winners of the Kentucky Derby the Preakness Stakes & the Belmont Stakes a FREE Derby Ordinal drop (total of 15 Free Ordinals). As of now, all Derby lucky #8 horses will be inscribed as an Ordinal, and sent to the NFT owner! We will have a snapshot date, so if you buy/sell the NFT now, you will be buying/selling the Ordinal too.

*IMPORTANT: Although we are playing the 2nd, 3rd races with tickets that compete for the FREE jackpot, the Ordinal will go to the owner/holder of the OG Derby Horse NFT and not the ticket winner(s). In addition, if horse #8 horse wins again, we will award the Ordinal to the Place (2nd place).

Derby Ordinal Collection

Once the Derbies are over, we will invite all other OG Derby owners to participate by covering the inscription cost (we wont charge any extra). This is “optional” and you may choose to do so or not. All forfeited inscription rights will be offered publicly after the deadline.

How to Play & Prizes

Tickets: FREE to Enter for Holders of the Derby NFT Collection (no betting, just Fantasy Play)

Prizes: 250 STX per race + 250 STX for Triple Crown Point Winner (1,000 STX total)
*Triple Crown Final winner will also get 1 BTC Sports Ordinal Pair (STX+Ordinal Inscription)

How to Play? (Preakness & Belmont Stakes):

• Collection: Play with the BTCS Derby Ticket Collection.

• Points: Play is based on fantasy points, FREE to play.

• Snapshot: 1h prior to race start on 5/20/23 & 6/10/23

• How many horses: You can play up to 3 horses/NFTs, just hold them in your STX wallet.

• No repeat: Can’t repeat horse number, only one play per horse. Of course, if you have them, it means no one else can use those points… but you might want to trade/sell that NFT too! (Many options).

• Winners: Whomever accumulates more points after the race is over will win. We will distribute 1,2 & 3rd place. If tied, we will raffle.

• How points are accumulated:

  • Win (1st place): 100% points on the reported final odds. Example: if a horse had 5/1 odds, it wins and you hold it in your wallet, you will get 5 points (5×100%= 5 points).

  • Place (2nd place): 50% points on the reported final odds. Example: if a horse had 30/1 odds, and comes in 2nd, and you hold it in your wallet, you will get 10 points (30×50% = 15 points).

  • Place (3rd place): 25% points on the reported final odds. Example: if a horse had 40/1 odds, and comes in 3rd, and you hold it in your wallet, you will get 8 points. (40×25% = 10 points).

  • Hold all 3 horses that got in 1st, 2nd, 3rd place then add up those points, taking the example that would be 5+15+10 points or 30 points
