Curator Collective - Newsletter #1

Bitcoin NFT collections backed by Physical Art

What do we do? We create unique NFT collections backed by Physical Art from artists whose work we believe is undervalued and will raise to prominence in the future. Each NFT in the collection is a hand-crafted variation of the physical art, and it gives voting rights on the fate of the physical piece.

Who are we? We want you to know that there’s a team of real people working on the Curator collective, with a founder who believes in our mission and is happy to show who they are in real life.

  • Anibal Boscoboinik (founder): professional tinkerer (https://linktr.ee/anibalbosco) - USA

  • E1Bøsc0: dev, architect (Twitter: @E1Bosc0) - Argentina

  • Keeva: artist, architect (shy person) - Russia

In numbers so far: 4 Paintings, 3 Collections, 323 unique NFTs

Upcoming (dates are tentative)

  • Feb 25 - Raffle of 5 Curator Collective NFTs, for discord members with verified wallets that contain a Curator NFT. (done)

  • March 10 - Curator Collective Website Goes Live (done)

  • March 15 – Gonzalo Borges profile by @CriptidI published

  • March 27 – First Curator Collective Trivia – Themed around artist Gonzalo Borges and the first three Collections – 3 Curator Collective NFTs as prizes.

  • Q2 - Voting on fate of paintings begins.

Raffle – You don’t need to be present, but you need to verify your wallet in our discord server, by typing the command /verify in any channel and linking to your Hiro web wallet.

Website – Our dev+'digital artist' @E1Bøsc0 is building the Curator Collective website to host the most updated info about the project, future plans, our artists, collections, research, etc.

Profiles – Community member @CriptidI is starting a series of artists' profiles through which you will get to know the people behind the art. The first one is of course Miamian/Cuban artist Gonzalo Borges, whose work we love.

Trivia – We will start having trivia nights themed around our artists, which will take place some time after the artists’ profiles are released. The first one is scheduled for late march and will be themed around Gonzalo Borges’ profile and the Curator Collective collections based on his work.

Voting mechanism – as you know, these NFTs give you voting rights on the fate of the physical art. We are still figuring out the details of the voting mechanism and we are considering a couple of different options. One of such options is having private discord channels for verified owners of each collection only, where the voting would take place. We plan on deciding and opening voting windows for current collections some time in Q2 2022. Nevertheless, we encourage you to have conversations in the discord server to discuss the ideas that we will later consider for voting.

We are currently considering options for displaying the paintings until a decision is made about their fate. If you have ideas, or know galleries/museums that may be open to this, please share with us.

Thank you for reading down to the end of the newsletter. The first 3 people (starting from 3 PM EST on Feb 19) that open a fortune cookie in the “chat-and-drinks” channel of the Curator Collective discord server will get a free NFT from the Bulls series. You do this by typing the command /cookie in that channel

Onwards and Upwards!

Anibal, on behalf of the Curator Collective
