Your Black Flowers is Grace Hye's third artistic NFT project to be minted on the Stacks blockchain and secured by Bitcoin.
The two previous projects were Entangled Flowers & L.O.V.E. Collection minted both at StacksArt. This third one came to existence after a fruitful collaboration with the Mintery program from Stacks Foundation, where I made part of the first cohort of creators.
In this first article I want to lay out some background about this project and the message I'm trying to convey with my artworks. There will be some other articles in the coming weeks explaining more in detail the minting process and the roadmap of Your Black Flowers NFT project.
Black Flowers is a physical collection of artworks that I've been painting in various sizes since January of last year and that are exhibited at my gallery and several art fairs in Paris. Thankfully, the response of the French and international collectors has been very positive, several pieces have been sold and I also received some custom orders.
From conversations I had with clients and other art lovers, an important feedback I've learnt regarding this collection is that people love the overall composition and natural balance of my paintings. I've heard that flowers are as calm as floating in water, and that it makes you feel at ease. The flowers are drifting down the river like our feelings are strayed in the flow of time. It was meaningful to me to be able to share empathy and happiness with them through the pictures I drew.
The colour base I've chosen for this collection is black and white. The deep energy from achromatic colours synergizes dandelions. The serenity and energy that comes from monotones give inner strength to people.
This is not simply to express beauty in flowers. We share flowers to congratulate someone, to comfort and to share sadness. Flowers become a medium for transmitting our emotions.
The flowers in the artwork are dandelions. Dandelion is a delicate flower with strong vitality, seeds blown by the wind expanding their territory, just like spreading their realm in nature; it also implies the meaning of experiencing new adventures in the Metaverse world. We know when our journey begins but we still don't know where it will take us.
I've also started a journey, from physical art to the crypto NFT world and I still don't know where it will go. My traditional clients are not yet very keen or even aware of NFTs, I'm convinced they'll be ubiquitous in the near future and if this is the case, there is no better place than Stacks and the Bitcoin NFTs to begin with.
I'm learning a lot about this new ecosystem thanks to the Mintery program, one of the main lessons is that in this new world community is key; I'll take advantage of this project to build up my community of NFT art lovers. I've set up a Discord server, please subscribe there to find out more information about my previous and coming NFT projects.
As I said before, there will be other articles where I'll be detailing the roadmap of Your Black Flowers NFT project, but I can already tell you that it will deal with the creative process surrounding one of my physical paintings and how that can turn into a vibrant community of NFT art lovers. The collection will consist of 50 exclusive pieces and the minting will be random, that means that you won't know what you've minted until the reveal date. There are more surprises down the road since I want to explore the experiential type of NFTs, so if you're a holder you can expect to unlock some content in real life.
Please keep an eye open for my next Sigle article about this project or see you at Grace Hye's Discord if you cannot wait to get more information.
