Grace Hye's Black Versions

Grace Hye keeps exploring new ways and use cases for NFTs and all her later collections published at Gamma have a strong entanglement with the physical world - all NFTs come with a physical painting that is posted worldwide to each holder. NFTs and paintings are on sale at the same time at Gamma's marketplace and at Galerie Nouvelle in Paris.

The NFTs of these collections become certificates of authenticity of the physical paintings and if an owner of a NFT decides to sell it, he must ensure that the new holder will also receive the associated physical painting. This entanglement with a physical asset is increasing the intrinsic value of NFTs and unleashing at the same time a worldwide market place for art works. This use case of blockchain technology will open a whole new channel for artists to interact with their audience and create a seamless way to exchange physical art pieces. One of the issues that will have to be addressed is to assure the entanglement between the NFT and the physical asset; several teams are working on this topic and a feasible solution is the Digital Twin Tags proposed by Ryder.

In order to increase the value proposition for her collectors, Grace Hye will be releasing a whole new series of Black Version collections. For each one of the NFT collections with a strong entanglement with the physical world, she will create a complimentary Black Version dedicated to the Metaverse. The Black Version NFTs are a token of gratitude towards her art collectors and they could also be commercialised in the secondary market but are not entangled in any way with the physical paintings of the original collection. Holders of the Black Version NFTs can freely exchange them since they are not related in anyway with the physical painting.

Two different market dynamics might arise in the future, one oriented towards the original NFT collections and entangled with a physical piece and another one, the Black Version collections, dedicated to the Metaverse.

An example of these twin collections are Crystallization and Crystallization Black Version and also Full Bloom and Full Bloom Black Version:
