Birthday Celebrations

Birthday Celebrations was inspired by a recent birthday that I celebrated with a close friend. I tried to include multiple aspects to this piece that reminded me of ways that people celebrate (birthday badges, presents, cake and candles). I also thought that the candles replacing some of the fingers as well as the hair on the clown was an interesting stylistic choice which allowed me to experiment with shape and will hopefully inspire me to think outside of the box more often when making art in the future. I'm not a particular fan of celebrating my birthday however I hope that Birthday Celebrations can inspire me and others to find joy and inspiration in places we may not have seen it possible to previously.
