Ahead of the Curve: An Interview with Ragnar

I hope you all have been paying attention. Between the rise of AI, the apparent failure of our institutions, the impending implementation of CBDCs, the corruption of the legacy media, and new developments surrounding Bitcoin, it can be hard to wrap your mind around the magnitude of the change that is assuredly head our way.

This is one of the reasons that I have wanted to speak to my guest today for quite some time. Ragnar Lifthrasir is a long time member of the Crypto Twitter community, an entrepreneur, and a man who has the ability to stay well ahead of the curve.

Ragnar has a groundbreaking application coming to our space, and its name is Trajan. In addition to building Trajan for the last year, he has been one of the early prominent voices when it comes to Bitcoin ordinals.

I immensely enjoyed our conversation, learned a lot, and I know you will too. So without further ado, lets get to it.

Trajan: A Building Block of Web3

At this point it should be obvious that we are on the verge of a new iteration of the internet. Now quite honestly I do not care what we call it, but for the purpose of this article, web3 will suffice.

While the idea of web3 remains a concept that has still not reached its perfect form, we can see some of the foundations of it taking shape now. One of the tenants of Web3 is being able to use the internet as more than a consumer, or even as a public facing business. This is why many of us are early adopters to things such as BNS names. I handle all of my web3 related activities with my BNS name. Good, bad, or ugly the things I say and do are connected with this identity that is not my government name.

What Ragnar is working on with Trajan is a way for any web3 user to establish a reputation that is associated with that name. The concept is elegant enough, but the ramifications are so profound that this deserves a bit more attention. So lets use me as an example:

This is what you all know me by. Well, after our call today, Ragnar can now attest to my actually being a human. After publishing this article, Ragnar will be able to attest that my writing helped get an important message out into the community. If I use Trajan, now others have a way to already know: Jack is real, and Jack is a writer. If you take this concept and look ahead, you can start to see the different ways that this not only brings value to something like a BNS identity, but also can start to imagine the different applications that can be built upon this.

So with Trajan I could register jackbinswitch.btc, onto the Bitcoin blockchain via an ordinal, and then start to build my reputation. In fact, I will be helping to test Trajan before launch…which is coming soon. This is not a simple undertaking, and has required a lot of time and effort to build. I am definitely looking forward to testing this out, and keeping you all in the loop afterwards. Ragnar has some interesting reading material here, and I would recommend you check that out.

Ordinals 2023

In addition to working on Trajan, Ragnar has been one of the early voices talking about ordinals and what they ultimately mean for our space. Ordinals 2023 is the first ever ordinals confernce, and it will be held on May 18, 2023 in Miami Beach. This meeting of some of the sharpest minds in Bitcoin will surely be an amazing event to attend. The fact is that if you are reading this right now, you are incredibly early. We are watching the future being built before our eyes, and events like this only help foster creativity and future development. Just one look at the featured speakers should give you some idea of where this space is headed. Tickets are still available, and I will additionally be providing a link to this event from my website.

Closing Thoughts

I remain bullish on this space, and the builders within it. I am extraordinarily bullish on ordinals, and from a trader’s perspective, this has seemed like the right time to buy. That said, this is much bigger than trading, ordinals are literally the means by which we can make the entire world able to express themselves without censorship. Bitcoin is uncensorable, immutable, perfect money that is also capable of telling the truth outside of legacy controlled institutions. We truly are on the verge of a golden age.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ragnar for his time and great conversation. I hope this article does his work justice, and I hope that you all enjoyed reading it. I don’t have much else to say for now. Until next time, Jack.

If you haven’t already, take some time and go check out jackbinswitch.com. This is still all early, but I am really trying to build something special here. The debut episode of the We Are Ready podcast will happen on April 8, and I am hoping to organize a Twitter Space or 2 before then.

In addition to that, a medical doctor who I have immense respect for, from a personal and clinical perspective has just launched an alternative health magazine that you should definitely check out called Renegade Health Magazine. Dr. Anarchist understands, like I understand that the healthcare system is totally broken. In reality prevention is key to most maladies, and the field has neglected this in favor of symptom control via medication and treatment. Alternative media such as Renegade Health Magazine should be not only supported, but utilized as a source of vital information to keep the blessing that is good health. Fiat has done more than destroyed our standard of living, it has destroyed our health.
