Stacks Artist Profile: The Doc.btc

The cover image for this piece is #17 from the Stacks Seductress "Hey Beach Collection found exclusively on the HeyLayer marketplace

In case you haven't noticed the Stacks ecosystem has been silently growing during the bear market. New projects, ambitious teams, and talented artist entering the ecosystem to make their mark and helping to build the future they want to see. These are my kinds of people. One of those artist is a young man named Conrad Carlson, otherwise known as TheDoc.btc . Doc is a father, photographer, Stacks Advocate, and co-founder of NFT Clothing Club and STX: LDN.

This NFT is Boa2 from Doc's Reptile Planet V1 Collection

Doc's passion for photography grew from a lifelong love of animals, specifically reptiles. Doc's mother's passion for Herpetology rubbed off on the young Mr. Carlson, and by the tender age of five Doc already had his very own subscription to Reptile magazine. Young Doc was an ardent fan of Jeff Corwin and the great Steve Irwin, (may he rest in peace), and he credits these greats for his immense respect for nature, wildlife education, and conservation. Unsurprisingly Doc's love of photography was born from his love for animals after a young Carlson found himself equipped with his uncle's Sony Point and Shoot camera during a family outing to the zoo. Once Doc was able to secure his own Canon Rebel T7i DSLR, his artistic journey commenced.

Stacks Seductress #15 found on Gamma

As fate would have it Doc would have occasion to meet a young model by the name of Mrs. Felicia Baumgart. Felicia was interested in expanding her portfolio, and Doc in perfecting his art. Together they brought us the aptly named Stacks Seductress collection. Doc debuted the first collection on Gamma 3 months ago, and most recently released the Stacks Seductress "Hey Beach" collection on HeyLayer in late July 2022. Doc's sublime work with Mrs. Baumgart is just the beginning, as Doc has long term plans to bring even more models into the Stacks ecosystem. By utilizing NFTs Doc envisions a platform in which models will have greater control of their work, while opening up an entirely new revenue stream. He wouldn't say this, but in terms of where we are in the evolution of NFTs, I consider Doc a visionary in this pursuit.

The Dynamic Duo

No, I am not talking about Batman and Robin, Mario and Luigi, or even Starsky and Hutch. The dynamic duo in question is TheDoc.btc and Atlas.NFTCC. Doc and Atlas have a history that goes back to laying waste to NPCs and inferior gamers in Battlefield 3 on the PS3 platform. What started as a pursuit in pwnage burgeoned into creating various gaming communities and created a foundation for a fruitful friendship. Atlas introduced Doc to Bitcoin several years ago and then Stacks earlier this year, and since then the two have joined forces to create the NFT Clothing Club as well as STX:LDN . While Doc is still tight lipped about the NFT Clothing Club project, Stacks London is a venture that allows non crypto native people to meet up and learn about Bitcoin, Stacks, and Web 3. To say that Doc is busy building a future on Stacks is an understatement, to say the least.

Watching people make their own way in the Stacks ecosystem is one of my current joys in life. This is what I do, and this freedom to pursue your passions is an inextricable part of what Bitcoin means for humanity. In my estimation Doc personifies this pursuit as an artist, community builder, and educator in this space.

I hope you enjoyed this artist profile. We will be hearing from TheDoc.btc again, as I have already requested an interview with him and Atlas to discuss the NFT Clothing Club, as well as Stacks London. As always, thanks for reading. I don't have anything else to say for now. Until next time, Jack.
