Stacks Feature: Zero Authority DAO

There are no barriers in this space. Your age, connections, background, education, ethnicity, gender, none of it matters. In crypto the only thing that matters is your ability. We don't know who Satoshi was/is, yet we recognize the brilliance of Bitcoin. This is part of the ethos of crypto. Sometimes you run into projects/teams that truly capture this ethos. Zero Authority is such a project. Upon speaking with Zero.btc and HodlSTX.BTC it became immediately apparent that this is by design. These men understand crypto in the way that so many of the other builders I have spoken to in the Stacks Community do. They understand it the way that I do. I knew that I was in the right place.

The genesis of the idea behind Zero Authority DAO was the vision of a decentralized community for creators. A place where people could easily find others with the skills necessary to help bring their own visions to fruition. Zero Authority Dao only exist due to this very dynamic playing out in its own creation. Stacks natives such as : KennyTheRogers, Mariaverse, Algorithm, Rapha, Advisor, Diopitis, and Vidia all made up the core team of the project. Outside of the core creators there were contributions by: Kurt (OKCoin), Spartan (Theopetra Labs), and Longstreet. Let that sink in, the use case of this project is proven by virtue of Zero Authority DAO's existence.

Zero authority DAO will utilize the $Zero governance token as a way to create incentives that empower creators, clients, DAO members, and community managers to act in the best interest of the DAO and protocol. As the Stacks ecosystem grows we will see incentivized people come into the DAO and build on top to offer new capabilities which are yet to be discovered. No politics, no permission; Satoshi Nakamoto would be proud.

The Cerulean Marketplace

Zero and Hodl learned early on that it is difficult to find people to work with in a trustless manner, so the idea behind the marketplace is straightforward. Anyone with something to offer can sign up, and anyone can hire them to work on their project. Individuals will build reputation based on their results, and this will all be accomplished pseudonymously via a wallet ID or BNS name. This work/reputation history will belong to the individual user, this data will be theirs and verified on the blockchain. The importance of the user owning their data is clearly a matter of great import to Zero and Hodl, and when you add the social aspect of the DAO you find yourself at the heart of the philosophy of Web 3. The Zero Authority DAO will not only speed up project completion, but it realistically has the potential to change hiring/work practices in the analog world. The ethos of Zero Authority literally has the potential to relegate Web 2 powerhouses such as LinkedIn to the dustbin of internet history.

As more users enter the marketplace it is easy to imagine how the speed of development within the Stacks ecosystem will increase. Founders will no longer have to rely on crypto acquaintances and word of mouth to find the talent they need. Whether it be technical or creative the Cerulean marketplace will be the place to find the skills necessary to bring projects to life. As the DAO grows the members will have the opportunities to vote on proposals that could even help teams fund their visions. Zero and Hodl believe that the DAO will act as a flywheel that will provide tremendous value to Stacks, while allowing anons the ability to work and earn doing what they love. Dear reader, this is what its all about.

Community

If you read my work you already know how highly I think of the Stacks community. It is literally comprised of the kindest, most sincere people that I have met in crypto. My belief in the quality of the Stacks community was further solidified after speaking to Zero and Hodl. They expressed tremendous gratitude for the support they have received from other communities within the Stacks ecosystem during the course of the interview. Familiar names such as Neoswap, Ryder, Gamma, StackerDAO's, Syvita, Arkadiko, Xverse, Theopetra, Crash Punks, Megapont....the list goes on. There is no shortage of good will, innovation, and integrity in the Stacks ecosystem, and it was enjoyable getting to know Zero and Hodl as they exemplify these qualities that are so desperately needed in the world today.

Whether you are an investor looking for promising projects during the bear, or a crypto enthusiast who dreams of working in the field. I would strongly advise the reader to learn more about the Zero Authority DAO, and you can start by following Zero.BTC and HODLSTX.BTC on Twitter as they frequently host spaces and livestreams such as this one on YouTube. The value of what they are doing with this project is self evident, and I have already joined the Cerulean Marketplace prior to the publication of this piece. I enjoyed getting to know these lads, and I hope you enjoyed reading. Thank you as always. Until next time, Jack.
