Kirk DeSoto is now on Parrot Radio

Kirk DeSoto is a singer/songwriter and Web3 educator. He grew up near Seattle during the height of the Grunge era and played with several bands before focusing on his solo music. He independently recorded two albums at Sony Music Studios in New York City, NY., has performed in many different cities in the US and has had an extensive background in cryptocurrency since 2016.

He stopped writing and performing music in early 2012, being fed up with the music industry as a whole and over time assumed he would never return to it. He found the Web3 music space around April of 2022 through Violetta Zironi and entered that ecosystem as a collector. But being around so many musicians again and feeling the energy of the Web3 music space he was inspired to return to music. He released his first three song drop on the Ethereum blockchain in October of 2022 via NiftyMusic and released a follow up song not long after.

Through his time in the Web3 space he connected with several people who were building in the music space, one of whom was legendary producer and musician Tommy Danvers, who founded TokenTraxx in 2021, a platform that seeks to transform the music industry to a more artist focused ecosystem using blockchain technology to help revalue music and teach artists how to own their own music and build community.

Kirk was brought on as an advisor to TokenTraxx in 2023 and did a unique drop on the platform. The song ‘I Wouldn’t Be Me’ was his first drop on TokenTraxx and was produced by Tommy Danvers. Holding the NFT gives access to a Web3 University he founded where holders can receive in-depth education and lectures on Web3 related topics including individual help with the technology associated with cryptocurrency and blockchain.

He is also on the board of the Shiba Sequoia Forest project which seeks to reforest the Sequoia population and collaboratively support Web3 music artists. He also established a Web3 label via TokenTraxx called Therapy Records which seeks to help new artists enter the space and get the support they need to stay and flourish in the Web3 space, collaborate with other artists in the space in order to facilitate the concept of collaboration over competition, and help musicians in underdeveloped nations gain more exposure to the Web3 space and in doing so help them find ways to use their talents to help themselves and their families using the principles of Web3, decentralization and collectorship. He also runs a weekly X Space podcast that highlights artists building in the Web3 space.
