It’s heart rending. A Koala sitting in the road next to a member of the species that caused this situation. This particular human, bless his soul, was attempting to save it’s home, but to no avail.
However, to a certain extent we are all to blame for this. In 2007 the IPCC Report had this to say about the impact of climate change on this region:
All resulting from a warming planet brought on by the rise in CO2 levels due to the burning of fossil fuels.
We caused this by every petrol or diesel driven vehicle trip we took
We caused this by every flight we took
We caused this by every coal powered electric light we turned on.
We caused this by our relentless burning of fossil fuels.
This is going to get much worse. We need to stop burning fossil fuels and we need to do so immediately.
Here is what we can do immediately:
🌍Become Climate Conscious
👩🏻🎓Become Carbon Literate
🗳️Vote for change
🌱Switch to a plant-based diet
🚘Drive less (switch to EV if you can)
☀️Switch to renewable energy
✈️Fly less (the worst transport choice)
