DEGENS FEBRUARY FORECAST

We would like to begin by thanking the community for a highly successful first full month! We launched the game on Christmas and are blown away by the success so far, as well as appreciative of all the support. The metrics we are tracking are astounding. Some game metrics:

  • 10,247 races recorded since the launch of the game

  • 15,376 minutes spent on playing the game

  • 157 unique wallets who have played the game and our Twitter metrics speak for itself

Up and to the right is exactly what we like to see! We are proud of our accomplishments in January, which include completing the StacksPunk In-Game Integration (which serves as the foundation for integrating in other NFT communities in the future) and completing our Tournament Revamp (which established four new maps, a more favorable tournament structure, and updated the health of the game). January was a tremendous month and we have all intentions to keep the momentum going.

IN-GAME PROMOTIONS

Since we’ve launched the new tournament mode with four new maps, there are naturally more billboards in the game as well. We originally began with providing our partners with in-game promotion opportunities by putting up their art or logos on our billboards. We will continue to do this. However, there are multiple individuals who have approached us specifically about how they may promote their project or company in-game via the billboards. So, we will be establishing the framework for allowing individuals, projects, and entities to utilize our billboards for in-game promotions.

We will be working out three different packages that an interested individual, project, or entity may choose from. To justify the differences in pricing, each package will allow for unique promotion opportunities. These opportunities will be based on the desired dimensions of the billboard, its placement, how many different billboards they would like, what kind of competition they would like them placed for and for how many competitions, and finally on what the actual appearance of the billboard will be. More will follow on this. The team believes this move is a total no-brainer. It opens up another stream of revenue for the team as while we fight to get our rewards pools and in-game currency established. We will be setting up an application process for those interested, followed by a scheduled call to learn more to determine if it is the best fit.

[REDACTED]

We will be launching our in-game currency sometime soon (there is no date locked in yet). It will serve as the basis for distributing player rewards, generating recurring funding for Stacks Degens, and governing the project. The largest holders may also find themselves additional benefits, which will be disclosed as we get closer to launch. The in-game currency will be deployed on the Stacks blockchain and will utilize the Proof of Transfer mining mechanism to issue block rewards. The launch of the in-game currency is dependent on two things happening prior:

  1. Create a DAO framework so that the community may have governance in the project with their SDGU NFTs and the in-game currency. We aim to provide many ownership opportunities for players so they may share in the success of Stacks Degens. Having a DAO structure alongside our in-game currency will embolden our engaged community and kickstart our efforts to decentralize the project.

  2. 2. Establish the basis for a trustless rewards pool that may be used for tournaments and lobbies. When we work it out, we will be test-running this trustless rewards pool with STX and possibly CityCoins. Basically, how it will work is players will commit STX into a rewards pool to record runs, and the pool trustlessly distributes the rewards to players at the end of a tournament, for example.

Working these out will be priorities of the team and details on both will be following this month. We are taking a little more of a cautious approach to launching the in-game currency because we would like to do it correctly the first time. The team is tremendously excited about the prospects and potential of the in-game currency. However, like everything else we’ve done so far, we will be make sure we launch the in-game currency as soon as it makes perfect sense to do so. There will be an Early Mining Incentive, where the block rewards are initially high for three months, then drop and rewards go to halving every four years. This is to create digital scarcity similar to Bitcoin. At the end of every Stacking Cycle, the STX committed to mining our in-game currency is 90% distributed to Stackers. The 10% of the mining proceeds given to supporting Stacks Degens is 3x less than the amount that is donated to cities from the CityCoin protocol, another very popular project built on Stacks that utilizes the Proof of Transfer mining mechanism.

Stacks Degens will be accountable for the success of our in-game currency. We will do what is necessary to facilitate the infrastructure for trustlessly mining, stacking, earning, and swapping it. This will include working with partners, such as the Syvita Mining, for setting up user-friendly dashboards for mining and stacking. We will also establish Liquidity Pools to allow for swapping in or out of our currency via Stacks or coins from partner communities, and push for its listing on major exchanges.

BOWTIED BRIDGE

We believe that integrating popular NFT communities like the StacksPunks into our game not only aligns with our objective of expanding our user base, but it also solves another major problem. Right now, NFT projects are having tremendous difficulty building use cases for their collection outside the blockchain. Our gaming universe creates a way for NFT communities to have off-chain utility by giving their collection the ability to join, compete against other communities or amongst themselves, and earn.

We have plans to become interoperable with the Ethereum blockchain by creating a bridge that allows for the integration of the Degenimals (BowTied) NFT collection into our gaming universe. This is also because their values and beliefs in liberty, sovereignty, and decentralization align with the values and beliefs of the Team (the entire team is, after all, BowTied). Everyone will know this bridge is close to completion because we will be holding a massive tournament for the BowTied Community prior to its launch.

Thank you for reading this latest installment! If you have yet to play the game, you may still mint yourself a MIA or NYC Degen or create a race-able StacksPunk in the Degenerator. Once you do, you will be able to compete in tournaments and have a chance to earn rewards. Links below:
