NFT CUSTOMIZATION AND BITCOIN DEGENS

In the past months, in-game lobbies went live, marking a milestone for the Stacks ecosystem through sustainable P2E unlocking GameFi that integrates BTC and therefore follows the Stacks ethos.

Any StacksDegens NFT holder can easily create a lobby, compete with friends that commit STX to the lobby, and the winner will earn the allocated amount.

Moreover, the lobby smart contracts have been audited by the amazing Friedger, so we decided to soon raise the cap to bid in a game lobby to 1000 stx! 

The lobbies will definitely become more competitive and fun.

But the team has been working on other great new updates, and NFT customization is finally almost here!

BITCOIN DEGENS

We are launching an exclusive collection of 420 NFTs called Bitcoin Degens that will give real utility to BNS for the first time. 

BNS holders that mint a Bitcoin Degen NFT will automatically take the name of the Bitcoin domain name associated with the minting wallet address. Furthermore, in the future, minters will receive 2 lootboxes which includes components for the NFT customization.

If you don't own a BNS, the mint price will be 150 STX. But if you own a BNS you can get a Bitcoin Degen NFT for only 69 STX!

Having a 2-digit number is amazing, but having a Bitcoin Degen racer named after the 2-digit BNS is even better and unique. 

NFT CUSTOMIZATION

As mentioned in the previous article, NYC & Miami Degen collections will be merged into one group only called StacksDegens.

NFT holders will receive a component NFT for each trait of their racer, which will vary based on the original trait rarity. Therefore the rarest the attributes of your current NFTs, the better the customizable items you will receive.

The process starts by upgrading your NYC & Miami Degen NFTs to the StacksDegens merged collection. The upgrade option will be accessible on the StacksDegens game, and afterward, users will be able to decompose their NFTs. Three main actions can be performed on the upgraded racers: assemble NFT, disassemble NFT, and swap components (the new attribute applied will replace the old one).

Holders will be able to modify the appearance of their racer NFTs. In particular, they will be able to personalize their racers with virtually every trait except the head attribute. The picture below is a great example of a possible customization outcome.

Through the degen garage, we want any holder to be able to create unique cars & create the degen NFT that represents them the most. Moreover, the graphics have been revamped both in-game and as NFT images to make the customization experience even more entertaining. The updated in-game graphics can be observed in the image below.

As each customizable part is an NFT, they can be sold and purchased on Stacks marketplaces. Furthermore, swapping car components won't lead to burning the previously applied parts. 

Finally, in the near future, the different traits will have associated power-ups based on their rarity; for example, a rare item will increase maximum speed by 5%. This will further increase the game's complexity and add a strategy aspect when competing in lobbies to make the game even more fun.
