"The concept of progress acts as a protective mechanism to shield us from the terrors of the future."
The Guests was one of the first projects on Stacks to be born in the bear market, the first real crash on Stacks and that has been interesting to navigate. What we have accomplished in the last 7 months is incredible and that is down to the tenacious community we are lucky enough to be a part of and to build from.
Our original collection was minted out within 1 block and is up 2500% since mint. We have made tooling to support our community and released numerous collections to reward our holders and expand our universe in preparation for what is to come, this isn't the end, this was just the prelude, we are just about to start.
Procrastinate Pixels
Some of you may have seen the name Procrastinate Pixels, it's the intro to the description on OG The Guests set, but we haven't really spoken about it.
Procrastinate Pixels is the umbrella studio/company above The Guests project comprised of the same core team. Based on our work on The Guests we have recently secured investment to take Procrastinate Pixels and in turn The Guests to the next level. We feel very fortunate to have this opportunity, and it is once again down to our fantastic community allowing us to showcase what we are capable of.
Outside of everything that already falls under Procrastinate Pixels, there will be 2 main priorities for the company, one of which we will speak more about in its official launch, but the other one anyone familiar with our project to this point should be very familiar with.
Our tooling, which you may currently know as “Holly” will be available shortly including revolutionary cross-chain token generation against NFT ownership, exciting use cases for said tokens, all-in-one discord solutions for cross-chain wallet verification and community management, interactive visual UI interfaces, and much more.
We will be offering both generic and boutique versions of this and will be able to feed so much of the work we do and add to this into The Guests. Not only will The Guests receive constantly evolving and additional utility, but as we test and spread this across every single chain we will be bringing The Guests with us, by holding an OG Guest on Stacks you will receive a unique Guest across every chain we move in to, available exclusively to yourselves.
We now have an opportunity to completely redefine the value proposition of holding a Guest on Stacks, and to implement a business model that doesn't solely rely on funding from our community.
We feel passionate about Stacks, this is where we made home, and for good reason. We also recently applied for a grant from The Stacks Foundation, to completely subsidize our community management and token-yielding solutions for any project on Stacks, unfortunately, we were part of Cohort 19 which was blanketly denied across the board. This does not change our core values however and the belief that paramount to the success of Stacks is keeping the community we currently have on the platform engaged and rewarded, and bolstering the current volume and difficulties projects on Stacks face. We don't know exactly how to subsidize this time now for other projects on Stacks, but we will, and if you are involved in a project that could benefit from what we have and are building, please reach out to us as we believe it was instrumental in our success, and we want to add value to the Stacks ecosystem.
The Future of The Guests - Season 2
In January we will be launching 3 new tiers of Pog claims including 80’s Guests, Disrupters (new villain), and a new stretch tier we will be showcasing soon. As well as this we will be launching some new games within our servers and adding further utility to Pogs. Anyone who purchased a piece in our verified collection will also be received an airdrop (the real set, we were originally going to just switch the metadata but apparently people are attached to their blue ticks)
In February we will begin the lead-up and ultimately the launch of The Hosts on Stacks, this will be our second mainline set and is part B of the original mainline set The Guests. The hosts will bring all our current lineup of NFTs together and pit them against each other in an experience with both high stakes and high rewards. The hosts will be an evolving set, focussing on the people of Earth the Guests are here to save, the only problem is they don’t know that yet. As you pitch Guests and Hosts against each other, should the Guest and their team of already hosted sidekicks win, the Host NFT will become Hosted, be burnt, and be replaced with a Hosted NFT. There will be goals and rewards for each side as the Guests fight to host everything and save the Earth from an impending threat.
The Hosts and the experience following it will add further utility to every set we have launched within the Guests, changing how the experience plays depending on the team you assemble and the traits they possess.
The remainder of our project time in December will be spent tying up loose ends, finishing up the last of the remaining current Pog claims and customs, and the final prep as we head into 2023 together.
We want to Thank You for giving us an incredible start to The Guests, and for allowing us this opportunity to build for you and to evolve into a project than can be important to Stacks as a whole. Thank You to Mrk and the entire Megapont team for putting Stacks on their backs and giving us all the opportunity to build here, to Boozy for being an inspiration and showing what it means to be an artist in this space, to the people behind incredible projects we have already gotten to work with including Megapont, Hooch Haus, Nonnish, Thisisnumberone, Stacks Parrots, to Gamma and the fantastic team and support infrastructure, to the countless creators in this space helping move the needle forward to the potential we all can see, and most of all to the community for allowing us the opportunity to take our passions and share them with you. The community is the greatest asset Stacks has and it is our hope that we can be part of expanding that community and showing people the importance of NFTs to Stacks.
