Allsorts โissuesโ are irregularly-published panoplies of hastily-collated art, articles, music, & other multi-media content fetched from all areas of the Web โ its slow rural expanses, monotonous-but-serene suburbs, & well-illuminated urban areas.
Allsorts draws inspiration from zines, amateur/outsider artists, medieval manuscripts, DIY culture, nostalgia, confusion, & whatever else.

๐ฟ๐บ SNCKPCK & Jason LaPierre - Ranchero Ranger (Official Music Video) A Dalle-2 Infinite Zoom Animation โ SNCKPCK lays cozy vocals down on top of an aesthetic piano ballad, creating a wholesome, full track that wouldn't feel out of place in a department store around Christmastime, or on a 24/7 lo-fi chill YouTube livestream channel (and that's a complement!). The visuals stand on their own as a surreal everlasting gobstopper.
๐ The Unsung Ranger Behind the U.S. Forest Serviceโs Iconic Signs โ 'Career ranger Virgil โBusโ Carrell had no design training, but โreally gave a damn,โ say experts, about his lasting legacy.'
๐ ๏ธ KIWIX โDownload any websites for use offline.
๐ The Sound Projector Music Magazine #10 โ Music magazine from 2002 with a great deal (164 pages) of generally noisy recommendations.
Includes a nice lil negative review of the wonderful album by Elephant 6 supergroup ๐ฟ Major Organ and the Adding Machine. The album is an incohesive fever dream falling apart at the seams. But I see nothing wrong with that. Might pair well with ๐ฟ๐บ Magik Markers.
๐ Smash Hits Volume 61 โ Except because this magazine is from 1981, most of these hits are new to my ears, at least. A few songs I randomly picked out:
๐๐ผ๏ธ The Koja Tree House โ Treehouse designed with the help of Swedish car brand Polestar
๐ฟ๐บ Dorian Electra - My Agenda (Anamanaguchi Remix) โ WARNING: flashy lights
๐๐ผ๏ธ Verbum Issue 5.2 - Virtual Reality (1991) โ Interesting perspectives on virtual reality from 30+ years ago. Also some neat visuals.
๐ A non-fossil alternate history for civilization and computing โ Interesting thought piece about an alternate reality where humans never even discovered steam. Water-powered civilization.
๐บ๐ผ๏ธ How the US government got hip graphic design โ and then lost it [9 min] โ TLDR: the government started caring about design, created the iconic NASA Worm & overhauled its design facilities, and then quickly stopped caring about design again.
๐ Tomatoes as Medicine โ Americans thought tomatoes were poisonous until the 1820s...
๐ป Poolsuite โ The internet radio. Retro pool-/beach-themed visuals, radio stations, mixtapes, and merch (including sunscreen).
๐บ๐ผ๏ธ Archillect TV โ Endless, aesthetic, AI-curated visuals to leave on in the background while you work. Or to get lost in instead of working.
๐ผ๏ธ Sockee is working on a new video โ It's about PB&J.
๐ The Lost Civilization of Dial-Up Bulletin Board Systems โ Decentralized communities before decentralization was cool.
๐ Floating Studio โ Working On Board Efficiently โ A fascinating article about living & working from a boat, how constraints fuel creativity & lead to more practical & efficient living.
๐บ Lancelot Link, Episode 01 โ A live-action spy comedy like Get Smart featuring chimpanzees & zero humans.
๐ฟ aliceffekt - Children of Bramble (2012) โ Ambient industrial music out of Japan that only occasionally would be considered relaxing. This music would be perfect for a concrete-themed birthday party for someone in their 30s.
๐ฟ YIN YIN - The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers (2019) โ Eastern-themed surf/psychedelic grooves.
๐ Galaxy [February, 1962] โ Science fiction short stories. Edited by a personal favorite sci-fi author, Frederik Pohl.
๐ฟ The North 41 - Enter Sandman (FUNKED UP)
๐ฟ XTC - The Smartest Monkeys (1992)
๐ฟ๐บ The Archies - Sugar, Sugar (1969)
๐ Stamp Collecting as Metaphor for the Free Market โ A capitalism-enabled hobby.
"The development of stamp collecting, the quintessential hobby, was inextricably bound up with the marketplace and capitalismโs conjoined notions of work and leisure, writes scholar Steven M. Gelber."
๐ A petition to change New Zealand's name is gaining ground
After a robust campaign, Te Pati Mฤori, the political party representing New Zealandโs indigenous Polynesian people, announced it has collected 70,000 signatures on a petition to change the countryโs name to โAotearoa.โ Thatโs enough support to compel the nationโs parliament to formally consider the proposal, which was first introduced last year.
