When Twitter implements Proof of Work

Twitter starts to verify facts.

The idea was implemented in Bitcoin to prevent double-spending and screen out the bad actors in the consensus blockchain without needing a third party.

Twitter is a social media platform that promotes freedom of speech after Elon's takeover.

Instead of running Twitter on the blockchain, Elon wants to have a system in check without a blockchain.

Does it really work?

It maybe not...

The problem is not what he can turn Twitter into and improve upon. The problem is how long Twitter acts as a censorship machine to interfere with the conversation.

If the social media platform takes the side of their opinion, it starts to change the dynamic of the conversation and turns it into a censorship machine.

Because the platform becomes a person to decide which side is right or wrong rather than solely providing services, Twitter then became a decision making machine to push opinions to users rather than letting them to decide what is right or wrong.

This is a dangerous movement.

And Twitter will inevitably face such a dilemma again at some point. 

The past leadership chose to eliminate the conversation to avoid such risks. Because if you do not know the issues, where do people start their conversation?

It then turns into a conspiracy around Twitter and the more you dig into it, the more biases you can get.

Now, Twitter wants a reset.

Whoever enjoyed the previous setup environment suddenly faces their dilemma and potentially loss their credibility in the Twitter space.

You will see more ads pull off from Twitter because there is no way they can hide it anymore.

But will Twitter keep the platform "open" and for how long it can be sustainable this way?

At the end of the day, social media is a business model to profit from privacy and misinformation. 

Such a business model will collapse along with the change of Twitter? Or it will make Twitter worst?
