How To Get Your First Wallet.
Web3 is run on top of blockchain technology. A Blockchain is a distributed ledger that is completely open to anyone to look at. A Blockchain Wallet allows you to interact with this ledger network. To use Web3 you need a Wallet.
There are two types of Wallets: Cold Wallets & Hot Wallets.
Cold Wallets are Hardware Wallets. These are the most secure wallets because none of the secret key words ever hit a computer screen. Cold Wallets are primarily used for holding large amounts of crypto currency (like Bitcoin) or extremely valuable NFTs (like CryptoPunks or Megapont Apes). Cold Wallets are your extra secure vault. You don’t mint NFTs or buy or sell crypto with this wallet. It is for storage & safe keeping for future generations.
Hot Wallets are Software Wallets. These are the easiest wallets to use, but because of their software nature these wallets are not the most secure. (more on how to keep your Digital Assets secure later). Hot Wallets are your everyday carry in the metaverse. This is what you mint with. This is what you sell with. This wallet is for your ‘spending’ money.
Now it is time to get you started on getting your first Wallet.
Different Blockchains require different wallets for this blog we will walk you through two different Hot Wallets for two different Crypto Currencies. All other blockchains and wallets work the same way.

Step 3: Taking Care of Your Secret Key.
This SECRET KEY is a string of words.
It is essential that you write down your secret key in a secure location.
Whenever you create a new wallet on a blockchain-based app, keep a record of your secret key.
Your Secret Key gives access to your account
Never share your Secret Key
Put it somewhere private and secure
Every new app and new wallet will have their own secret key.

Once your wallet pops up you can see:
The Account Name
The Account Address
The Assets in this Account.
