Zero Authority DAO Presents: Mark Hammond

Zero Authority DAO's Cerulean Marketplace exist for those of us who want to build the future of Web 3 on Stacks. A space where one can find the talent to help bring their vision to fruition. Previously in this series we featured Diego May, who brings his marketing and advertising expertise to the Cerulean Marketplace. In this piece we will profile Mark Hammond who brings an entirely different set of skills to the table.

Java, Clarity, Solidity, Go, Oh My

Mark is a software engineer with over fifteen years experience working for startups, large companies, and now the blockchain. A passion for learning and problem solving has directed Mr. Hammond's career and led to him developing an impressive set of technical skills. The bulk of Mark's experience has been spent as a Java developer developing backend software, and in the last couple of years he has found himself using Go.

Mark initially started dabbling in crypto in 2017 with some buys in Ethereum, XRP, and Litecoin. It wasn't until 2021 when Mark started seriously learning about Bitcoin, and it was at that point when he truly understood the genius of Bitcoin as a technological and economic vehicle for change. Before long Mr. Hammond had liquidated all of his crypto holdings and went all in on Bitcoin (when you see it you can't unsee it).

Mark began learning Solidity as it was obvious to him that smart contracts are in and of themselves an amazing technological innovation. Once Mark began researching smart contracts on Bitcoin, he discovered Stacks and RSK. The Stacks architecture and smart contract language impressed Mark, and the amazing Stacks community sealed the deal.

Since then Mark attended the inaugural Clarity universe, and has dedicated much of his spare time practicing coding on Clarity as well as keeping his other skills fresh. Mr. Hammond's interest in economics, finance, undoubtedly contributed to his interest in Bitcoin, but his passion for problem solving led him to understand the power of Bitcoin.

Upon learning about Zero Authority DAO, Mark quickly understood the potential of the Cerulean Marketplace and registered as a developer. The idea of being able to collaborate with others to build on Stacks, Lightning, Web 3, and even help out with some Web 2 software proved to be too good to pass up.

By now the utility of the Cerulean Marketplace should be apparent. With only two creator profiles one could find a dev and a marketing professional to help realize their Web 3 vision, and that is because I am only two profiles into my own contribution to the Zero Authority DAO. There are visual artist, meme masters, video content producers, educators, podcasters and more already signed up (and I will be writing profiles on every one of them).

You don't have to live in Silicon Valley to find the expertise to bring your Web 3 projects to life, nor do you need to rely on your personal network to put together a team. The Cerulean Marketplace does this, and it's just getting started. In this space there are no barriers to entry. The only thing you need is your vision, talents, and work ethic. This represents a small part of the change that the Bitcoin economy will bring to the world as it replaces the fiat economy. Mark Hammond gets it, and now you get it as well.

Mark's Linked in can be found here, and a link to his Github here.
