One of the best experiences I had while visiting Tulum, Mexico, was having the opportunity to spend some time at the SFER IK Museum (https://www.sferik.art/). SFER IK is located in the heart of Tulum by the side road that takes you to the beach areas, very easy to find. Their concept is the bonding of art and nature or as they state in their ethos “Three pillars support us: Nature, Art and Ancestrality. Guided by them, we express our creativity in multiple material ways in order to find the reconnection and thus evolve as a human species.”
There was hardly anyone at the time which gave me the opportunity to experience every exhibit and take me time to enjoy the entire place. There were plenty of lounging areas to throw yourself and enjoy the visuals. Besides the exhibits, SFER IK offers some personal experiences that can be booked in advance like ceramic or painting workshops, or the Zumpulche (Temazcal) which is the traditional Mayan ceremonial steam bath.
For me, the museum offered a quiet place, clean air and atmosphere, and a much needed rest from the outside world. Be sure to check out their website to see the special exhibitions taking place around your travel dates.
