Mojitos in Paradise 🍹

Another shameless promotion of my favorite NFT on Gamma, “Mojito Paraiso”. The reason I bring this one up is because I talked about staying in Tulum on my previous post but I did not went into details about the amazing beach that is Playa Paraiso just south of where I was staying at the Conrad Tulum. This beach is accessible both through a town road coming from Tulum heading north (if you are visiting town) or from the archeological site the Mayan ruins of Tulum if you are in tour.

If I were your travel guide, I would suggest a trip to the ruins in the morning first, which will be a good walk and a very educational experience. You would get to learn about the ancient town of Tulum, how they lived and how the town fell. The walk around the temples can actually be a calming experience, consider hiring a guided tour to explain the ruins too. After this, you’d probably had worked an appetite or a need for a more relaxed time. Playa Paraiso would be just a few minutes walk down the road from the archeological site.

Ok, you had enough culture for a day and you are ready for some food or something more relaxing. Playa Paraiso offers lots of food choices, ranging from hipster local venues to more typical cuisines like seafood, tacos, etc. As far as the ambient at Playa Paraiso, you will find the beach strip is divided by its visitors into different experiences. As you walks down the beach you will find areas that are clearly more family oriented with access to food and activities. As you move down the beach there will be areas that clearly cater to young party seeking crowds with access to bars and ambient music. But as you move further south (in my experience) you will find some pleasantly surprising areas where the music isn’t loud, there is access to a bar (and a bartender, very important), great seating or lounging accommodations, awesome beach views and where tops (and other garments) are optional, and where literally no one cares how you go about enjoying the sun. My favorite spot was at Cleo’s (Pictured below)c where I could enjoy one of the best Mojito’s I have ever had in my life, had access to the amazing waters of Tulum and where I was able to be careless for just a moment in time.

  • It’s the weekend and my coffee maker takes no breaks. How to Make a Damn Fine Cup of Coffee is a long writeup that I’d say only those of us who are into coffee will endure. Luckily, there is a TLDR at the bottom. Hint: quality of beans, don’t burn them, measure just enough for each cup and take notes of changes to remember what you did to get that best cup of coffee.

  • Well, as I mentioned above, it is the weekend and on this part of the world it is winter. Yes! It does get super cold here in Arizona! But don’t fear, there are 5 Seriously Great Scotch Cocktails To Sip This Winter and this writeup goes over them in great detail and great pictures too. I am yet to try any of them but by the looks of them I would say The Perfect Pear would be my favorite. One more new thing to try!
