Adventures in Stacks

Do you feel it? That slight change in the energy? It's akin to that feeling in the atmosphere right before a large storm erupts. The new faces, the unfamiliar .btcs appearing on your TL. If you have stuck through this bear, you know what I am talking about...you legend. If you are reading this after the fact, glad you made it. The Stacks community is amazing, you are going to love it here.

Some of these pieces are as much a diary for me and my descendants (I wrote about this here ) as they are the way I play my small part in the Stacks ecosystem. That means that sometimes I write pieces like this. I hope you dig it.

I have been in crypto for a while, since 2017. Admittedly I have a much deeper understanding and respect for Bitcoin than I did when I started, I recognized that there was something there other than price volatility and riches. This caused me to never develop a cynicism for the space. This optimism coupled with my belief system, and high risk tolerance developed a love of trading. Good coins, shit coins, perps, etc. I love it all. So when the chart looked right for Stacks I learned a bit about the project, made some buys, and my journey began.

My earliest days were spent sorting out my strategy, making some buys, checking out Discords (degens know the drill), and getting to know the community. I was surprised. this place was full of cool people. Then I found Sigle, and started writing. The community support shocked me, it was amazing. As of today this blog has received over 10,000 views, I never could have dreamed that would happen.

Spending time in the community, researching and writing about projects, this led to new opportunities. I became a Stacks Advocate, and learned so much more. Talking to people like, John Ennis, Zero.btc, and HodlSTX.btc, leveled me up. I was able to see different perspectives, with a common understanding coupled with mission.

I made amazing friends, there are seriously too many to list right now. Always going to give Mrwagmi.btc a shout out, he is one of the best men I know. The community is great. Community is an essential part of Web3, and we have that part covered. The tech, well you are here now, you see where this is going.

Yeah, the bear market sucks. The last one sucked too, but I stuck to my plan. Being an informed buyer in crypto is, at least for me, an indication of maturity. I am seriously bullish on Stacks, but I found myself paying less attention to the market. For a long time, I would spend literal hours in front of a price chart....per day. Now I am too busy to do that, more importantly, I am growing.

I am being mentored by some of the finest people in the space, learning so much and being surrounded by a great group of people. My inner degen will never die, but maybe this is what a maturing market can feel like. Either way, I am living my dream. I have started down a path that I will walk from here on out, "The journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step." Lao Tsu.

This just so happens to be a significant part of the journey, the kind that doesn't come along often. The one that you have to take a big swing at. The chance to be your own version of Babe Ruth. Either step up and swing as hard as you can, or go back to working full time. Taking care of people is cool, I dig my job, but I have done it long enough. Accomplished enough...had to do what I had to do to make it. I don't care how long this takes. I am going to follow this road for as long as I can.

Yeah, you can say that I am bullish.

When I started this blog, one of my goals was to be a mentor. I am achieving that. Look out for some young, hustling, writers coming to your feed. This is literally a dream come true. I can't thank Sigle enough.

I will write more on this later, this is a journal afterall. As always, thanks for reading. I don't have anything to say for now. Until next time, Jack.

P.S. If you’d like to continue on this adventure with me, check out Sigle’s Burned Explorer Museum. The team at Sigle made a universe of their own, settled by Bitcoin, living on for eternity. Many Credits due to the team for such a fun experience! Once you get into the museum, ask yourself this question: What’s Sigle’s version of the universe?
